1. Back to the GIVE US A WINK, this Sweet lp fused their incredible heavy Led Zep sound with the sing-a-long fury of the Bay City Rollers which I always thought sounded a lot like them. Could have been the production or lead vocals. This lp was their first ALL-GROUP ALONE effort like the Monkees did way back when on HEADQUARTERS. And they tore it up.

3. Es wurden die US-Cover, nicht die JAPAN_Covers verwendet. Das ist mir besonders bei der Give us a wink aufgefallen, bei der auf der zweiten LP-Seite "Fox on the run" fehlt. Tut aber der Qualität keinen Abbruch. Hoffentlich kommen auch die 3 RCA LP's (Blockbuster, Sweet Fanny Adams und Desolation Boulevard noch als SHM-CD's daizahnishndarmeztizuru.xyzinfos:

4. Give Us a Wink is the fourth studio album by British rock band Sweet. It was the first album to be fully written and produced by the band members. Previously they had relied on material from the songwriting team of Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman. The album was released by RCA Records in Europe and Australia and by Capitol Records in the United States, Canada and Japan.

5. Mature hard rock effort from the Sweet, following up Desolation Boulevard. That album was much more commercial, most of the songs on it were written by Chapman and Chin, who also penned tunes for Suzi Quatro. The songs on Give Us a Wink progress nicely. Standouts include the opener "Action", "Yesterday's Rain", and "Healer".

There was no shortage of cool hard rock albums issued throughout Sweet did their part, as the group continued their transition from early era bubblegum, followed by glam, into ass kickin' rock 'n' roll with the release of Give Us a daizahnishndarmeztizuru.xyzinfolly identified as puppets for the Mike Chapman and Nicky Chinn tag-team, Give Us a Wink is far removed from the light-weight pop Sweet recorded.
